The Emptiness Behind Your Name Is Not Empty. It Is Everything.

When you go deeper into the mystery of Shiva, you begin to see something beautiful. Shiva is not only a god with a form or a name. Shiva is also a state of being—a state where all names, identities, and stories slowly disappear.

We are taught our name, religion, nationality, family, and identity from the moment we are born. Slowly, we start believing that these things are who we are. We say, “This is me,” and everything else becomes separate from us.

But before you had a name, you already existed.

So who are you beyond your name, body, thoughts, and personal story? What remains when all these identities become quiet?

At first, this emptiness may feel frightening. But if you do not run away from it, you may discover that it is not truly empty. Behind the identity you created, there is a deep silence and peace.

Being nameless does not mean losing yourself. It means understanding that your name is only a part of you—not the whole of your existence.

The Emptiness Behind Your Name Is Not Empty. It Is Everything.

You Are Not Your Name: The Wall Nobody Told You About

At midnight, engulfed in endless thoughts, I detach my name from myself. As my name separates, all the bonds of my life break. Parents, siblings, and all those tied to me disengage. That very night marked the beginning of self-discovery in my life. This name, Hemant, was the biggest bond of life.

I don’t know who I am sharing this with. I know that no one thinks like me. Everyone is busy in life. But what I found that night, and what I want to share with you today, took me years to understand. And once you understand it, you will never see yourself the same way again.

The Mystery That Keeps Expanding

When you go deep into the mystery of Shiva something strange appears. The more you search for Shiva the more he steps outside of any fixed form. He seems less like a deity and more like a state. A state where existence strips away all its introductions. Where names slowly fall away. Forms become blurry. And in the end you have nothing left to say about yourself.

And maybe that is the moment the mind fears the most. Because when all the answers to who am I keep falling, it feels like you yourself are falling. But maybe it is not existence that dies. Maybe only the person dies. The person you tied for so many years to your name, your form and your story.

You are standing at the edge of an infinite ocean that sings the immortal song of its vastness. Something far too beautiful, wrapped in its own inner silence. But one thing stops you from dissolving into that vastness. A wall. A very long wall.

The Night I Removed My Name

Six years ago I had an experience. I asked my mother about bondage. I was an innocent child, unaware of the ways of the world. I received no satisfying answer. After becoming acquainted with the depths of my own existence I came to know about the web of bondages that this world creates.

This name. My name. The one that had pushed me into the dark pit of society. A burden that had pressed me very far down.

You know how strange an experience it is when you internally remove your own name. Suddenly you feel the vast loneliness of your existence. Suddenly everything goes silent. No family, no relatives, no society. A strange silence that shouts out loud. Life is the name of namelessness. Do not take anything for granted.

I am not saying name is a bad thing. Just try to understand the rhythm I want to pass on to you.

We Are All Born as Empty Libraries

After birth we are born as an empty library. Society keeps putting its books of thoughts into us one by one. And the first book is our name, to which the entire library is connected. And in this vast library, the golden book of your own awareness gets lost somewhere.

You know all of this. How temporary it all is. How strange it is. How dark. How silent. And yet you keep wandering in this wandering. Even after getting everything a certain emptiness remains. Because you never actually saw existence. You never looked at it directly.

One day you are born. You do not know your name. You do not know your religion. You do not know your nationality. You do not know if you are good or bad. You do not even know that you are supposed to be a specific kind of person.

Then someone calls out to you again and again with a sound. For example my materialistic name is Hemant. Slowly that sound starts pointing toward you. Then something unique happens. You learn that Hemant means me. The name was actually just a sound. But eventually it becomes a reference for your existence. And here the first confusion appears.

What Your Name Actually Did to You

A name gives you an identity. And at the same time it separates you from everything else. I am one thing and everything that I am not is a different thing. Name creates a psychological boundary. And maybe this is where the real journey begins.

Because the name did not only say who you are. It quietly also said that you are not this. And that second thing is far deeper than the first.

The moment you placed yourself inside a name, the world stood outside you. Then you started accumulating things around you. My family, my people, my religion, my thoughts, my body, my reputation. And slowly this I became so small that it had to spend an entire lifetime protecting everything around itself.

But sit alone once and think. At the time of your birth none of these things came with you. No name, no position, no identity. And yet you existed. Maybe existence never needed your identity at all. Identity needed existence. This reversal is what we can no longer see. We think the name tells us who we are. But maybe the name only tells society what sound to call us by.

The Emptiness That Waits Inside

Then one day when that name becomes a little quiet from within, a strange emptiness appears. At first this emptiness is frightening because nothing familiar is there. No role. No story. No this is who I am. The mind immediately wants to run back. It wants its walls. It wants its introduction. It wants someone it can hold onto and say this is me.

But if you do not run from that emptiness, slowly you realize it is not empty. Only your constructed identity is empty. Behind it something is so still that the mind cannot recognize it without noise.

Maybe this is why human beings keep running away from themselves. Because on the way to reaching yourself you have to pass through every single story you built about yourself.

Who Is Actually Watching?

Take this question even deeper inside. If no one calls your name will you become less? If no one recognizes you will your existence shrink? If the world forgets all its assumptions about you, what will remain inside you?

Maybe for the first time you will understand that losing identity and losing existence are not the same thing. The person the world recognizes can change, can be erased, can be forgotten. But the silence in which you are seeing all of this needs no introduction. It does not wait for any name. It does not say know me. It simply exists.

And maybe this is the first taste of namelessness. Not disappearing from the world. Just stepping back a little from the person the world gave you.

I am the body. I am the mind. I am this story. I am this person. We have said all of this for so many years. And when you watch all of it and ask, if all of this is appearing in front of me then who is the one watching? Who is the observer?

The question becomes more powerful than any answer.

The body appears. Thoughts appear. Emotions appear. Even the name starts appearing like just another thought. But the one who is watching does not appear as any object in front of you. You cannot catch it. You cannot give it a shape. You cannot name it.

And maybe that is why every attempt to give it a name makes it smaller. Whatever you can fully name is in front of you. But what is making it possible for things to be in front of you at all, what will you call that?

The Wall Was Never Outside

Maybe namelessness is not about reaching some answer. Maybe it is about reaching the place where even the one asking the question slowly becomes quiet.

And then that same wall you stood in front of for so many years suddenly starts feeling a little strange. Because you see the wall was less on the outside. It was more on the inside.

The world gave you a name. But you built an entire I around that name. Then you protected that I, decorated it, gave it sorrow, gave it pride and finally mistook it for your existence.

Being nameless is maybe not about erasing the name. It is about seeing the grip hidden behind the name.

When someone calls you and you respond, let the behavior continue. But somewhere inside know that this sound is not the boundary of your existence. You do not deny your name. You just stop being imprisoned inside it.

And maybe at that very moment the ocean does not feel far away for the first time. The wall may still be standing. But now you know it was never made of stone. It was only made of belief.

What This Leaves Me With

Life is so much simpler when you stop explaining yourself and just do what works for you.

You came naked. You will leave naked. You came without anything. You will leave without anything. So why so much hatred, resentment, envy, selfishness and pride? We will all go empty handed. Everything we have earned, we earned here and we will leave it here only.

The only thing that will go with you is what you actually are. Not what they called you. Not what you protected. Not the story you spent a lifetime decorating.

Just that silent thing that was always watching.

That never needed a name to exist.

Conclusion

Being anonymous doesn’t mean throwing away your name. It means seeing how tightly you’re holding on to it. When someone calls you, respond. Live normally. But deep inside, know that your name is not the limit of who you are. You don’t reject the name, you just stop being trapped inside it. And in that moment, the ocean doesn’t feel far anymore.

The wall is still there, but now you see it was never made of stone. It was made of belief. we’ll go beyond the rules of society and explore two sides of who I am, Hemant and ela. The journey is from namelessness to immortality. Thank you for your time.

Thank you, and have a great day! 💜
