7 Ideas That Will Quietly Change How You See Everything

If we can all grow in life with each other’s knowledge, then let us grow together. Because what we read is what we become.

I have been collecting ideas for a long time. Not the kind that make you feel good for 10 minutes and then disappear. The kind that stay. The kind that quietly change how you see things. People, money, the world, yourself.

These are 7 of those ideas. Some will make you nod. Some will make you a little uncomfortable. And at least one will stay with you for a very long time.

Last month I did something different. I stopped scrolling random reels and started collecting only those ideas that actually stay with you. Ideas that change how you look at money, people, success, and yourself.

I spent almost 30 days reading old books, notes, and thoughts that most people ignore. Slowly I realised one thing: we don’t need more information. We need the right ideas that quietly shift our thinking. So I picked the 7 strongest ones. Some will make you nod.

Some will make you a little uncomfortable. And at least one will stay in your mind for a long time.If you feel stuck, overthinking, or distracted all the time, these 7 ideas can give you the clarity that normally takes months to find.
This is not motivation. This is real thinking that works. Read carefully. You might leave this post a little different from how you came.

7 Ideas That Will Quietly Change How You See Everything

Idea 1: Ignoring What You Cannot Have Is Not Weakness. It Is Power.

Law 36 from the book The 48 Laws of Power says this directly. Disdain things you cannot have. Ignoring them is the best revenge.

Think about it. The more attention you give to a small wound, the bigger it becomes. When left alone, it heals on its own. The more you chase something, the further it goes away from you. And as soon as you start ignoring it, the same thing gets attracted to you.

When you have to remember the name of a movie or a song, you cannot remember it. But as soon as you stop thinking about it and start doing your work, it suddenly comes to your mind.

If you feel that something or someone is outside your reach, pursuing it will only make you desperate. It will be better if you just ignore that thing or person. The less interest you show, the more powerful you become.

King Louis XIV of France had a very special quality. If he did not like someone, he would ignore that person’s existence completely. Not just avoid taking their name. He would not even react to seeing that person.

When you cannot get something, pretend you are not interested in that thing. Like the fox in the story who called the grapes sour. Ignoring unobtainable things is the best revenge.

Idea 2: Ten Thoughts From the Bhagavad Gita That Most People Never Read

  1. Control your thoughts when you are alone. Control your tongue when you are with friends. And control your decisions when you are angry.
  2. The less you respond to negative people, the more peaceful your life will be.
  3. Never behave with others the way you do not like for yourself.
  4. You do not have to do anything to get dirty. Just sit and you will get dirty. But to stay clean you have to work, you have to take a bath. If you do nothing, your bad days will come on their own. But you will have to work hard to improve your condition.
  5. Human welfare is the main objective of any religion. Human welfare should be your priority while performing your duty.
  6. Everyone remains silent on the goodness of a person. But if the discussion is on his evil, then even the dumb speak.
  7. The one who is in your luck will come running. The one who is not will come and go. That is why do not be greedy and take care of what you have got.
  8. The person whose thoughts and intentions are good, God definitely comes in one form or another to help him.
  9. If you want to control your mind, start with your senses. Because the person who cannot control his sensory input, his mind is never calm. To maintain the balance of your mind, look good, speak good and choose to be with good people.
  10. The God who does not allow even birds to fall sitting on a tree at night, then think, how can he leave you alone and destitute.

Idea 3: You Are Not Poor Because You Are Uneducated. You Are Poor Because You Are Too Smart.

There is a quote in Rich Dad Poor Dad. A students work for C students and B students work for the government. Students who are very good at studies go ahead and work for those students who were once backbenchers.

A person with a low IQ never overthinks. As soon as he gets an idea he just starts working. But those people who think themselves to be very intelligent, they first spend a lot of time in complete market research, analysis, paralysis and unnecessary fuss. But they never work on the actual idea.

Jeff Bezos says that many companies spend a lot of time trying to understand consumer behaviour. The easy method is that just make it and you will know everything automatically.

In India, educated people are more unemployed than uneducated people. Because a graduate from a private college will not sell tea on the road. But a 12th fail will definitely do. Because it does not matter to him if he looks stupid.

After studying from IIT or IIM your dream is to become a CEO or a manager directly. But the truth is, forget about a job, even to start a business you have to do all the work yourself at the beginning. You are the manager of that company and you are also the errand boy of that company.

Money has nothing to do with your degree or your intelligence. I know many Gujarati businessmen who do not even know how to speak Hindi properly. But still export their goods to many countries. There is a saying in Gujarati. If you have the courage and determination to do something big, then educated people are available on rent.

Think about this carefully.

Idea 4: Your Brain Is Not a Junkyard. Stop Filling It Like One.

Today smartphones and the internet are no longer just addictive. The platforms have become designed to mess with your mind.

There are two types of knowledge in the world. One which is useful in real life and the other which just gives fun. In most schools, colleges and on the internet, the same outdated knowledge is distributed which is never useful in real life.

Do not depend on the videos recommended by the algorithm. Be specific. Choose some channels yourself and keep visiting them from time to time. Watching random Instagram reels and shorts will only make you feel good. But feeling good does not change life.

Select a specific topic and learn about it. Loans, insurance, banking, communication skills, personal hygiene, social etiquette, human psychology, money making. All these topics can make you a better person. When the responsibilities of managing the house and earning money come, not random reels but specific knowledge will be useful.

When the use of the search bar will increase in your life instead of YouTube recommendations, after watching videos you will feel energetic and not lethargic.

Your brain is not a junkyard where you can keep dumping everything into it. Be a little aware of your content consumption. It is not necessary to watch every shared reel, WhatsApp message and YouTube video. No matter what anyone says, whatever does not work for you is useless. Remove it.

Idea 5: Your Map of Reality Is Not Reality. It Is Just Your Map.

If a child asks you how a rocket flies, you will say there is fuel inside the rocket, when it burns fire and gases come out rapidly, thrust is generated and the rocket flies up. This is simple and true. But the actual rocket is a very complex machine. So complex that only a few countries in the world can design and launch it successfully.

Your small explanation is correct. But on the basis of this, if you assume you know everything about rockets, you are wrong. Your understanding of things is often a simplified version of actual reality. And the actual reality is many times more complex than you understand.

This idea in English is called The Map Is Not The Territory.

Once upon a time there were four blind men in a village who had heard about elephants but never experienced them. One day they were told an elephant had come to the village. They became very excited and rushed to touch it.

The first blind man touched the trunk and said the elephant is like a snake, very long and flexible. The second caught the leg and said no, the elephant is like the trunk of a tree, fat and strong. The third touched the stomach and said both of you are wrong, the elephant is very wide like a wall. The fourth touched the tail and said you are all misunderstanding, an elephant is like a rope, thin and short.

Each of them tried to understand the territory using their senses. And made a map in their mind of what the elephant would be like. But the map created by their mind was not the actual reality.

Human psychology says that no human being can ever capture actual reality 100 percent. Because the mind has filters of conditioning, specific life experiences, perceptions and values. And these filters make every person different.

Take 10 people to Dubai for a week and ask what they observed. Someone would say the infrastructure was good. Some would say the rules were very good. Someone might have liked the cultural beauty or the cars. Meaning reality is the same but the mental maps are different.

Your perception is not the actual reality. That is just a simplified version of reality. So do not take any important decision considering your impression as the ultimate truth.

Idea 6: You Are Living Inside a Matrix Designed to Keep You Distracted

100 years ago, all the pleasures in the world were associated with some kind of effort. If people did not make efforts, they did not get pleasure. If you did not do farming you did not get food. If you did not work the whole day you did not get paid.

But today to get any of these pleasures you just have to press a few buttons. Games, movies, social media, these are all cheap dopamine sources. You do not have to do any hard work to get them.

But this did not happen just like that. It is designed to keep you trapped. The algorithms of social platforms are part of this trap. Extreme and inflammatory content is promoted more. People who talk about hatred and one-sided things quickly come into the limelight.

According to the Hypodermic Needle Theory, mass media can inject any data into your brain. Anyone’s opinion can be changed. The criminal can be proven innocent and the innocent can be proven guilty. Because today it is the media that controls the mass. And when a lie is repeated again and again it becomes the truth.

The solution is to become someone who does not care about all of this. Because life is too short to waste your time unnecessarily.

Till date you have accumulated a lot of knowledge in your mind. Collected a lot of information. But have not used it properly. Avoid Shiny Object Syndrome. All that glitters is not gold.

Idea 7: Six Timeless Lessons That Will Take Your Thinking to a New Level

The flapping of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil can cause a storm in Texas. This is the title of a scientific research published in 1972. Nothing is small in this world. Everything has an impact. Because everything is connected.

In 1961 a mathematician named Edward Lorenz was working on a simulation of the earth’s atmosphere. He re-ran the same program but rounded off the value of numbers to only three decimal places instead of six. And this small difference of 0.001 caused such a big change in the weather prediction that what was sunny before now showed a storm coming. This is how Chaos Theory was discovered. And this is the butterfly effect.

If you had not clicked on this post, your future would have been different. Every decision of yours matters because everything in the world is connected at a basic level.

Lesson 1: Invest in preparedness, not in prediction. Nobody knows when an earthquake will occur in California. But the people and the government there keep themselves prepared for any kind of earthquake. Nassim Taleb says invest in preparedness, not in predictions. Jeff Bezos was once asked what was going to change in the next 10 years. He said, I do not know what is going to change. But I know what will not change. Even after 10 years people will want a big collection, fast delivery and low prices. Forget the trends and focus on things that never change.

Lesson 2: Stories are more powerful than statistics. Everyone knows the Titanic sank. But in the shipping industry, many ships bigger than the Titanic have sunk and many more people have died. You only know about the Titanic because that is the only story that has been told. Charles Darwin did not discover the evolution theory for the first time. Many people had claimed it before him. But the world knows Darwin today because he presented that theory with the most compelling story. The world runs on stories, not data.

Lesson 3: Seek permanent information. There are two types of information. One is permanent and the other is expiring. Most news and social media posts are expiring information. After a few days that information is no longer useful. Whereas permanent information is hidden in the pages of history. Expiring information only tells you what happened. Permanent information also tells you why it happened. Whenever you consume any content ask yourself whether this information will matter even after 5 years. If yes, only then look ahead.

Lesson 4: Terrible events breed innovation. When people are happy and the whole world is running peacefully, nothing innovative happens. People do something only when their survival is in danger. In 1930 during the Great Depression, the output of American factories increased by 41 percent. World War 2 was a very stressful time. And at that same time many incredible innovations like radar, the internet, microwave ovens, antibiotics and GPS took place. Prepare a mini war type situation for yourself. Disappear for a few days and work on yourself.

Lesson 5: The world is driven by envy, not greed. 30 to 40 years ago the household used to run well even with very little money. Everyone used to live happily. Today people’s lifestyle is many times better than in 1950. But the satisfaction and happiness level of people is many times lower. Because after the Second World War in 1945 the condition of 99 percent of the people was the same and everyone’s lives had improved to the same extent. That is why the overall population was happy. But after that inequality kept increasing. And with social media people started showing off that wealth. The standards of comparing lifestyle, relationships and everything else became international. There is a saying in France, it is easy if you just want to be happy. But it is impossible if you want to be happier than others.

Lesson 6: Never meet your heroes. John Maynard Keynes was a great fan of Newton. He once bought all the original papers of Isaac Newton in an auction. He considered Newton to be the smartest human being in the world. But when he read those original papers he found that Newton believed in things like black magic and immortality herbs. His heart got broken. When you get close to a person you start seeing his flaws. People who are abnormally masters in one thing will be fools in other things. Maintain some distance from those people whom you want to respect till your death. Because if you try to know more about them there is an 80 percent chance that something about them will not sit right with you and you will lose respect for them forever.

What All of This Adds Up To

Pain is part of growing. Everything in life is temporary. Worrying and complaining changes nothing. What is meant to be will eventually be. The best thing you can do is keep going.

Everyone has a story. Take time to listen. Points of view are different. Events mark people. Circumstances shape people. Everybody’s views are valid.

The best three lessons I have learned: Be you. Do not bother what people think about you. Be the reason for your own happiness. Do not depend on others. Plan for the future but live in the moment.

You came naked. You will leave naked. You came without anything. You will leave without anything. So why so much hatred, resentment, envy, selfishness and pride? We will all go empty handed. Everything we have earned, we earned here and we will leave it here only.

What we read is what we become. So read carefully. Think deeply. And keep going.

Everything in life is temporary. Pain is part of growing. Complaining changes nothing. The best thing you can do is keep going, stay true to yourself, and focus on what actually matters. What you read becomes part of who you are so choose carefully and keep moving forward.
